It wasn’t a difficult task for Andy Murray to win his quarter final match against Jeremy Chardy but it will probably be a whole different ball game in the semis against Roger Federer who won Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6 (7/4) 4-6 7-6 (7/4) 3-6 6-3.
Murray has yet to drop a set this tournament while Federer was also rolling along quite nicely until Tsonga turned up and gave him his first real test in this years Australian Open, he passed but it was a tough one to call at times.
Looking at the Head to Head Stats below it is Murray who has the edge but if you take just the Grand Slam meetings it is Federer who prevails winning all three times they have met in a major.
Federer has been champion a total of four times while Murray has had to settle for runner up twice. The Scots belief in himself after winning the US Open and Olympic Gold should be at an all time high, but is it good enough to beat Roger Federer in a semi final of a Grand Slam?
